Nigerian actor Jerry Williams has been reportedly arrested by the police, Naijaonpoint reports.

He was whisked away from his home in Delta State by the officers on Monday morning, July 21, 2025.

The arrest was said to have been carried out with the help of Nwafor Franklin, popularly known as Izutech.

Actor Stanley Ontop raised the alarm through a video on social media, claiming that Jerry was forcefully taken to Benin, Edo State.

He expressed fear for Jerry’s safety and accused Izutech of owing N2.5 million, which was allegedly collected from producers who wanted to feature Jerry in upcoming films.

Stanley also called on the public to hold Izutech responsible if anything goes wrong with Jerry’s wellbeing.

He wrote; “Izu went to Jerry Williams house in the early hours of today 21st July 2025 and bundled him to Benin with the help of some Nigeria police.

“Let it be known that Jerry Williams is in Izu’s custody. If anything happens to Jerry, Izu should be held responsible”.

The incident comes shortly after Jerry Williams made a comeback to Nollywood, following a break for rehabilitation linked to substance abuse.

In other news, a Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday granted bail to activist Scott Iguma, who is facing trial for allegedly posting a false video and issuing threats to life.

Naijaonpoint reports that the court set the bail at N10 million.

The ruling was given by Justice Friday Oghazi, who also directed that Iguma must provide one surety with the same bail amount.

The surety must either own property within the court’s jurisdiction or be a civil servant with at least grade level 12, working with the Federal or Lagos State Government.
