Mouka has marked 2025 by celebrating the first babies born in Nigeria for the year as part of its annual brand tradition.
Mouka, in a statement, noted that the initiative, spanning 13 states, showcased its commitment to improving lives through thoughtful community engagements.
The company, in partnership with public hospitals in states such as Lagos, Oyo, Imo, Abia, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Gombe, Kano, and Plateau, distributed gifts to newborns and their families.
Items included Mouka Dreamtime Baby Mattresses, as well as pillows, nappies, and baby care essentials.
In Lagos, Mouka collaborated with First Lady Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu to honour babies born on New Year’s Day.
Events were held at Isolo General Hospital, Ifako-Ijaiye General Hospital, and Ikorodu General Hospital, where families received celebratory gifts. A special party at Ifako-Ijaiye General Hospital brought together the first babies born in Lagos from 2020 to 2024.
At Ikorodu General Hospital, Baby Olaolu, a girl weighing 2.75 kg, was born at 12:34 a.m., becoming the first baby of the year.
Ifako-Ijaiye General Hospital welcomed twins, Osayomi, minutes apart—a girl weighing 2.5 kg at 12:14 a.m., followed by her brother at 12:15 a.m., weighing 2.49 kg.
Baby Lawal, a boy weighing 2.7 kg, was delivered at Isolo General Hospital at 1:32 a.m., adding to the celebrations.
Mouka’s brand manager, Tolani Tijani, representing the company’s chief commercial officer, Dimeji Osingunwa, highlighted the brand’s dedication to promoting healthy sleep habits, remarking, “Our Dreamtime mattress is specially crafted to support children’s physical and cognitive development. It is water-resistant yet breathable, ensuring a cool and comfortable sleep environment.”
In Oyo State, Mouka’s team celebrated at the University Teaching Hospital, Ibadan, where Baby Asimiyu was delivered at 12:01 a.m., followed by Baby Olaniyi at 2:43 a.m.
Similar gestures were extended to families in other states.
Grateful parents lauded Mouka for its generosity and commitment to improving lives. “Mouka has shown that it cares deeply about Nigerian families. This is a memorable way to start the year,” said a mother at Ikorodu General Hospital.
