Ms. Marvel has just reached its conclusion, with Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan finally donning her iconic suit and adopting the name Ms. Marvel, and the series has already broken an MCU record.

Kamala Khan’s story is apparently capturing the hearts of critics, as Ms. Marvel has officially become the highest-rated MCU title of all-time on Rotten Tomatoes. The warm critical response comes after a finale that saw Kamala confronting Damage Control and the newly-superpowered Kamran, as well as overcoming the rift between her and her family.

Ms. Marvel brought a fresh new energy to a classic origin story and it looks like it’s paid off, with this new hero receiving one of the best responses of any MCU property so far.

Currently, Ms. Marvel has a Tomatometer score of 98%, beating out Black Panther for the MCU’s top spot on Rotten Tomatoes. Its audience score sits a little lower but is still impressive, at 81%.

Previously, Black Panther had been the highest-rated MCU project on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 96%. Ms. Marvel has also taken the title of highest-rated MCU Disney Plus series from What If…?, which has a score of 94%.

Agents of SHIELD was previously the highest rated of any MCU TV series, with a score of 95%. Clearly, Ms. Marvel has faced off some stiff competition.

The series finale brought with it some major reveals as well. As in the comics, Iman Vellani’s Kamala revealed her identity to her entire family. She also discovered the true reason she has powers, with Matt Lintz’s Bruno telling her she is a mutant – and a certain musical cue told the audience exactly what that means for the MCU’s future.

The episode also ended with a mid-credits scene that featured a cameo from Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, setting up Kamala’s role in next year’s The Marvels.

Here is the synopsis for Ms. Marvel:

Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?

The series stars Iman Vellani, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Fawad Khan, Mehwish Hayat, and Farhan Akhtar. Episodes of the series were directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, with Bisha K. Ali serving as the head writer. Marvel’s Kevin Feige is involved in the series as an executive producer.

Ms. Marvel is now streaming on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the Disney Plus series, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more original video content.
