Mumuni celebrates Tinubu on 71st birthday, says his campaign devoid of ethnoreligious sentiments

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and global security expert, Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, has described Nigeria’s president-elect, Bola Tinubu, as a foremost practitioner of leadership, polity and governance.

Mumuni, while congratulating Tinubu on his 71st birthday, said Jagaban as he is popularly called, is the only candidate whose campaign at the recently conducted presidential election was not founded on religious or ethnic sentiments.

According to him, “let me use this rare occasion to congratulate my uncle, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his 71st birthday; the only candidate in the last presidential election whose campaign was not founded on religious or ethnic sentiments. He never invites to anything that might cause divide, the reason he is the only candidate who won six states each in the South and North.”

Speaking further in a press statement issued through his media aide, Rasheed Abubakar, Amb. Mumuni said, “Tinubu is one of the foremost democrats among his contemporaries not just in Nigeria, but in the international scene as well. His antecedent is one that marked great legacies and indelible marks.”

Mumuni, a member of the intelligence and security team, an arm of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), reeled out some of Tinubu’s achievements starting from his days as governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007.

According to him, Tinubu founded formidable political platforms and mentored many great leaders who are on top of their respective games. They are excelling in what they’ve learnt and how to do well; leadership. As a governor, he created structures, from education to judiciary, infrastructure, transport etc. He created LAMATA, LASTMA, LASEMA among others and made Lagos the pacesetter for other states of the federation.”

He wished the president-elect long life, good health and a sound mind with which he will transform Nigeria and prayed that Allah surrounds him with good people of sound mind.

“I pray that Allah surrounds him with people of sound mind with whom he will deliver the great responsibilities ahead of him and fulfil the promises made on security, education, health, infrastructure, etc. That is exactly what he needs,” he said.

Amb. Mumuni also felicitated President Muhammadu Buhari; the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar, and all Nigerian Muslims home and abroad on the occasion of the commencement of the annual Ramadan fast.

The counterterrorism expert enjoined the Muslim faithful to reflect on the meaning of the Qur’an, saying that Ramadan is the month in which the Qur’an was revealed, according to Qur’an 2:185.

The Aare Jagunmade 1 of Lagos, therefore, urged them to pray for a peaceful transition of Tinubu and other elected officers in the coming weeks.
