‘Mutfwang Newest Bride Of APC Family’ – Akpabio Hails Plateau Gov’s Defection

Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Monday (today) said Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has “conquered” the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Akpabio also described the governor as the newest bride of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the official welcoming ceremony in Jos, the state capital.

Speaking at the event, the Senate President praised Mutfwang’s performance and welcomed him into the ruling party.

“The governor, the newest bride of the APC family in Nigeria, and the performing governor of Plateau State, my brother Caleb. I have only one word for you.

“Even in the Bible it says, Caleb, we can go up to the mountain and conquer it. I want you to know that this moment means you have conquered the Government House in Plateau State again in 2027,” Akpabio said.

Akpabio added that Mutfwang’s defection signifies the consolidation of APC influence across the North-Central region.

“Congratulations in advance, your name shows nothing but conquest. It is important for us to know that today’s event is very significant. Significantly, today the North-Central region is complete,” he said.

He also addressed speculations regarding alleged religious bias by the APC-led government.

“People are spreading rumours as if this administration is targeting one religion. But I don’t think that we have had any government in the past 10 years,” Akpabio added.

The event marked a major political realignment in Plateau State, signalling APC’s strengthened foothold in the region ahead of the 2027 elections.
