Veteran singer Eldee The Don recently revealed that his father was the first person to connect Nigeria to the Internet.
He shared that his dad established the first cyber café in Lagos, providing internet services to oil companies and government agencies.
Eldee attributed his early access to technology as a factor that gave him an advantage in the music industry.
During an appearance on the Adesope Live show, he stated, “Thankfully, I had a father who was involved in technology. My dad was a pioneer in his field as well.
“That man was the first person to connect Nigeria to the Internet. This is a topic people often debate because they don’t know his name; he wasn’t the type to seek recognition. The very first cyber café in Lagos was set up by my dad, and he was responsible for the initial connections for Mobil, CBN, and various government agencies.
“At that time, we had access to technology that wasn’t widely available. Because of this, I had a studio in our house where I was able to produce music.”
