Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has sent a message to her detractors as she acknowledges their plot against her.
In a post on one of her social media pages, she noted how her detractors are plotting; however, she is solidly on ground.
The mother of two described herself as a law-abiding citizen, saying she is closely observing and adhering to the rule of law, due process, and institutional independence.
She said her eyes see the crooked plans and camouflaged visits, her ears hear the silent whisperings, and her lips won’t cease speaking to the consciousness of society.
Addressing her fans and family, Iyabo said that, no matter how far falsehood travels, the truth will catch up with it one day.
“I’m aware my detractors are plotting.
I’m solidly on ground!
As a law-abiding citizen, we shall keenly observe adherence to the rule of law, compliance with the process, and institutional independence.
Our eyes are seeing the crooked plans and camouflaged visits.
Our ears are hearing the silent whisperings.
And likewise, our lips won’t cease to speak to the consciousness of society!
My beautiful fans and family, no matter how far falsehood may travel, the truth will catch up with it one day!
The truth shall emerge in earnest”.
During the premiere of her movie, Iyabo had reacted to accusations that she gave one of her goddaughters, Fola Tinubu Kayamata. She noted that she wasn’t using Kayamata, so she can’t recommend it to anyone. The movie star further clarified her relationship with Tinubu, stating that Tinubu was just her goddaughter, whom she helped with her business and legal battles.
When Iyabo got backlash for promoting Murtala airport, she defended herself, claiming she wasn’t paid to praise them. She noted how they approached her to help spread the changes to the world, and she agreed without any fee or contract. Iyabo said her gesture was done out of love for Nigeria, and she is unapologetic about it and will continue to use her craft to promote her country.
Last year, Following her daughter’s wedding, the controversial actress confirmed reports that she was invited by EFCC for questioning over the spraying of money at her daughter’s wedding. Ojo said she explained that she thought only abuse or mutilation of the Naira was an offence, and the commission enlightened her.
Also, last year, some men had taken to the streets of Lagos, chanting “E no go better for Iyabo Ojo” in response to Mohbad’s incident.
Addressing them, in an Instagram post, Iyabo said she never affirmed that Mohbad’s death was caused by any specific individual. Iyabo noted how certain individuals have, over the years, consistently called for her death, the destruction of her source of livelihood and have engaged in public violence against her and her children without any intervention from the authorities.
