Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has responded to her colleague, Taye Arimoro, after he filed a N100 million lawsuit against her.
The wife of Frederick Leonard denied his allegations in a fresh legal response, saying his claims were misleading, selective and materially false. She said the actor is twisting the entire incident.
According to her suit, the issue started when Taye was asked to return to the set, but instead, allegedly got into a heated confrontation. The response states that he assaulted the Production Manager, Luke Obayi, before allegedly head-butting Peggy’s driver, Joshua Madu, leaving him bleeding from the ear and nose.
Witnesses at the location reportedly provided statements to the police, confirming Taye’s aggressive behaviour.
Peggy’s lawyer said Taye tried to flee immediately after the incident, and any attempt to stop him was to prevent him from escaping before police arrived. They maintained that Peggy never assaulted him, explaining that the only physical contact was when she pushed him lightly after he allegedly attempted to deflate her tyres.
Kemi Filani reported last week that in a viral video shared by Arimoro, he accused Peggy and her crew of assualting him on a movie set. Narrating the incident, he claimed that Peggy instructed her driver to block his car to prevent him from leaving, and his car’s tyres were deflated. The actor showed visible injuries to his gums and lips.
Reacting to his claims, Peggy accused Taye of physically assaulting two crew members during a film shoot.
A CCTV footage from the incident later surfaced online, which showed Peggy lied about the incident. The actress was seen yanking her wig off, giving someone a phone and was ready to engage in a fight with Taye.
The actor has since filed a legal complaints against the popular actress, demanding a public apology and N100 million compensation.
