The passionate appeal by Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim, is coming on the heels of the natiinal tragedy that befell Nigeria, Sunday, July 13th, 2025 , breaking the sad but sudden news of President { Major-General } Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, in a London Hospital, after brief illness.
By initiating this presidential proclamation, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim,MFR, explained, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, would not only be immortalizing the memory of late President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR but allow posterity remember this great leader who, after retirement from the military, showed resilience through a dogged spirit to offer himself for national service through civilian processes, having contested three times and failed to became a civilian President.
According Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim, MFR , who was the first Nigerian to publicly declare a second bid for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, said by naming late President after any of the critical national facilities, would help keep the memory of this one-time war veteran -transfomed democrat, “whose” erstwhile ” military sins” against the democratic elite class, had been forgiven by all Nigerians, ” noting that , ” in death, we all forgive people of whatever perceived or imagined wrongdoings, that may have been ascribed to them, either rightly or wrongly”.
