THERE has finally been a breakthrough in the negotiations for Victor Osimhen between Napoli and Galatasaray, according to various reports tonight.
The clubs had been haggling over details and payment guarantees for several days, but they reached an agreement for a fee potentially rising to €80 million.
The terms of the deal, as reported by European transfer expert Fabrizio Romano and other reliable outlets, include Galatasaray paying €40m immediately.
The Turkish champions will then pay another €35m within one year, plus €5m in goal-based add-ons.
Napoli also have a 10% sell-on clause in case Galatasaray sell the Super Eagles striker in future, and there is also a condition that Osimhen cannot be sold to an Italian club in the next two years.
Osimhen has already agreed a four-year deal with Galatasaray, in which he will reportedly earn €18m per year.
The 26-year-old Nigeria international spent last season on loan with Galatasaray, scoring 37 goals as they won the Turkish Super Lig and Turkish Cup double.
Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille for around €80m in September 2020, scoring 76 goals in 133 appearances and helping them to win the Serie A title in 2023.
