NASD OTC Exchange Records 0.21% Loss

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its loss by 0.21 on Wednesday, July 30, after two securities ended on the laggards’ chart.

During the trading session, the market capitalisation decreased by N4.29 billion to settle at N2.150 trillion compared with the preceding day’s N2.154 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) slipped by 7.77 points to close at 3,672.20 points, in contrast to the 3,679.97 points it ended on Tuesday.

At midweek, the share price of 11 Plc went down by N23.90 to end at N230.42 per unit compared with the preceding day’s N254.32 per unit, and Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC) Plc depreciated by 18 Kobo to close at N2.90 per share compared with Tuesday’s closing price of N3.08 per share.

At the close of transactions, the volume of securities went down by 51.5 per cent to 152,937 units from the 315,584 units achieved a day earlier, the value of securities slumped by 38.4 per cent to N11.9 million from N19.4 million, and the number of deals declined by 33.3 per cent to 26 deals from 39 deals.

Okitipupa Plc was still the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 154.1 million units worth N5.0 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.2 million units valued at N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 42.8 million units sold for N1.8 billion.

Also, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) remained as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.1 billion units transacted for N354.4 million, trailed by Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units traded for N524.8 million, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.2 million units valued at N4.2 billion.
