NASD OTC Extends Growth by 0.45% at Midweek

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its positive run with a 0.45 per cent appreciation on Wednesday, July 9.

During the trading session, the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) went up by 0.67 points to close at 3,403.01 points compared with the preceding day’s 3,387.73 points, and the market capitalisation rose by N390 million to finish unchanged at N1.993 trillion.

The growth recorded yesterday was buoyed by FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, which expanded by N5.46 to close at N60.25 per share compared with the preceding session’s N54.79 per share.

However, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc lost 22 Kobo to settle at N31.28 per unit versus N31.50 per unit, and UBN Property Plc depreciated by 11 Kobo to finish at N1.92 per share, in contrast to the N2.03 per share it ended a day earlier.

During the midweek session, the volume of securities increased by 320.6 per cent to 3.9 million units from 916,738 units, and the number of deals jumped by 9.1 per cent to 24 deals from 22 deals, while the value of securities depreciated by 28.4 per cent to N16.1 million from N22.5 million.

At the close of business, Okitipupa Plc remained the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 153.8 million units valued at N4.9 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.2 million units worth N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 41.9 million units traded for N1.8 billion.

Impresit Bakolori Plc remained the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 536.9 million units worth N524.8 million, trailed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.2 million units valued at N4.2 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc with 268.9 million units sold for N478.1 million.
