National Assembly Complex scaled

The National Assembly Service Commission (NASSC) has confirmed the appointment of Emmanuel Odo as the Clerk of the Senate, while Ibrahim Sidi has been elevated as the acting Clerk of the House of Representatives.

Naijaonpoint reports that the decisions were part of resolutions reached at the Commission’s 19th meeting held on Monday, January 20, 2026.

The Commission recalled that it had earlier approved Odo’s elevation to the position of Acting Clerk of the Senate on September 16, 2025.

His latest confirmation formally makes him the substantive Clerk of the Senate.

The Commission also approved the appointment of Ibrahim Sidi as acting Clerk of the House of Representatives, with effect from February 9, 2026.

Sidi, who was until his new appointment a Director of Administration in the National Assembly, will replace Yahaya Danzariya, who is scheduled to retire from service on February 8, 2026.

Other appointments approved

In addition to the top appointments, the Commission also approved the appointment and redeployment of officers into other consolidated positions within the National Assembly Service.

The NASSC said the decisions were in line with its mandate to ensure continuity, efficiency, and effective administration within the National Assembly.
