The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has announced that the final eight of the 2025 Premier Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League will hold from September 14 to 20 at the National Stadium Indoor Sports Hall in Surulere, Lagos.
In a letter to Zenith Bank Plc, NBBF President Engr. Ahmadu Musa Kida expressed gratitude to the bank for over 17 years of sponsorship of the league, which has helped the federation discover top female basketball talents across Nigeria.
“Zenith Bank Plc has remained a dedicated and committed partner of the NBBF and proud sponsors of the elite division of the Women Basketball League without cease, for over 17 years now,” Kida said.
He noted that the bank’s support has contributed to Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s basketball over the last eight years and enhanced the visibility of the national team, D’Tigress, on the global stage.
Kida also commended Zenith Bank for hosting and awarding the team 200 million naira after their 2025 AfroBasket victory.
The NBBF expects top officials, including the Chairman and Director General of the Nigerian Sports Commission, as well as Zenith Bank’s management team, to attend the finals.
Kida confirmed that the bank will retain all branding, prize monies, trophies, and awards for the event, ensuring a befitting showcase of the league’s sponsorship.
“The NBBF league committee and your team are working to ensure a befitting finals,” Kida said, urging stakeholders to look forward to a successful conclusion of the season.
