The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the interim forfeiture of a property belonging to socialite and entertainer, Pretty Mike, over allegations that it was used for drug storage and distribution.
Naijaonpoint reports that Justice Musa Kakaki granted the order on Tuesday following an ex parte motion filed by the counsel for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr Buhari Abdullahi.
The property, located at No. 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, and known as Proxy Lagos Night Club, was allegedly used to store 169 cylinders (384.662 kilograms) of nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and 200 grams of cannabis sativa.
According to the NDLEA, the nightclub is owned by Mike Nwalie (Pretty Mike) and Joachim Hillary, who purportedly used the premises as a base for storing and distributing illegal substances ahead of a planned “drug party.”
While moving the motion, Abdullahi urged the court to order the interim forfeiture of the nightclub to the Federal Government, describing it as “an instrumentality of crime under the NDLEA Act.”
He also requested that all activities at the premises be suspended pending the conclusion of investigations, arguing that the order was necessary to preserve the property and ensure it was not tampered with during the ongoing probe.
“It is a statutory requirement to obtain an interim forfeiture order to preserve the property while investigations continue. No party will be prejudiced by this order,” Abdullahi stated.
In an affidavit sworn by Deputy Commander of Narcotics, Nasiru Garba Bungudu, the NDLEA said it received credible intelligence in October 2025 indicating preparations for a large-scale drug party at the nightclub.
Following a surveillance operation, NDLEA operatives from the Lagos Strategic Command raided the property around midnight on October 26, 2025, recovering 169 cylinders of nitrous oxide and 200 grams of cannabis sativa.
Over 200 persons were reportedly arrested during the raid, including the two defendants. The agency said laboratory tests confirmed the seized items to be controlled substances.
“The nightclub has long served as a hub for drug abuse and illegal trade with the knowledge and consent of the owner,” the affidavit stated.
After reviewing the motion and accompanying documents, Justice Kakaki granted the interim forfeiture order and directed that all activities at the nightclub remain suspended until the investigation is completed.
The judge adjourned the matter till January 28, 2026, for further proceedings.
