A major drug party was disrupted in the early hours of Sunday, 26th October, when operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) stormed Proxy Night Club, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Over 100 suspects, including the club owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening.

Cartons of illicit substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from guests and the club’s storage area.
The raid followed actionable intelligence about a planned drug party. NDLEA operatives, who had infiltrated the event around 11 p.m. on Saturday, 25th October, disrupted the gathering at about 3 a.m. on Sunday in line with the Agency’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The nightclub raid came amid a series of coordinated nationwide operations by the NDLEA, which also uncovered a cocaine trafficking network at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos.

Suspects
Seventy parcels of cocaine, factory-packed and concealed in cocoa butter formula body cream containers bound for London, were intercepted by NDLEA officers at the airport’s export shed. The 3.6-kilogram consignment was discovered on 14th October during routine examination of cargo labelled as personal effects on an Air Peace flight to the United Kingdom.
A cargo agent, Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, who presented the shipment for export, was arrested immediately. Two more principal suspects — Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, a healthcare worker, and Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi, the Chief Executive Officer of Mutiu Adebiyi & Co Travel Agency — were later apprehended in follow-up operations between 18th and 20th October at separate locations in Lagos.
