Netanyahu thanks PM Modi after talks on West Asia, India-Israel strategic partnership

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi following a phone conversation in which the two leaders reviewed the India-Israel strategic partnership and exchanged views on the evolving situation in West Asia. Their discussion comes as the regional conflict continues for more than five months.

Sharing PM Modi’s post on X, Netanyahu wrote: “Thank you, my friend, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. Together we continue to strengthen the bond between Israel and India.”

Earlier, PM Modi said he had received a phone call from Netanyahu during which they discussed regional developments and reviewed cooperation between the two countries.

“I received a phone call from the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu. We reviewed the progress across various aspects of the special strategic partnership between India and Israel, which continues to strengthen and develop steadily. We also exchanged views regarding the current situation in West Asia,” the Prime Minister wrote in his post on Friday.

Leaders review bilateral cooperation

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi and Netanyahu exchanged views on recent developments in West Asia and agreed to remain in touch.

The statement said the two leaders also reviewed the sustained progress of the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors for the mutual benefit of both countries.

Talks held amid regional tensions

The conversation took place as tensions continue across West Asia, where the war has stretched beyond five months without a permanent solution.

The ongoing conflict has heightened concerns over regional security, energy supplies and global trade routes. The Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for international energy shipments, remains a key focus amid the continuing tensions.
