Netflix new series for Portugal: Rabo de Peixe from Ukbar directed by Augusto Fraga and Patrícia Sequeira – Meios & Publicidade

Netflix officially confirmed this Wednesday that the recordings of Rabo de Peixe, the second original Netflix series in Portugal, after Glória, have begun. This project was selected from the competition for screenwriters launched in 2020 by Netflix and ICA (Instituto do Cinema e Audiovisual).

The series Rabo de Peixe is produced by Ukbar Filmes and directed by Augusto Fraga and Patrícia Sequeira. It is a thriller with a touch of sarcastic humor, which tells the story of four friends whose lives change forever with the advent of a ton of cocaine. “It’s a great pride to be able to tell the Azores to the world, telling an incredible story in one of the most unique places on the planet. This is a series of pure fun and adrenaline, but at the same time, a reflection on the fate and fatality of the human condition. “As an Azorean, I’m very happy to bring this adventure to the Netflix screens,” said Augusto Fraga, creator and director of Rabo de Peixe.

José Condessa, Helena Caldeira, Rodrigo Tomás, André Leitão and Kelly Bailey are the leading actors, joined by Maria João Bastos, Pepe Rapazote, Albano Jerónimo and Afonso Pimentel.

The series will be recorded in the Azores, respectively on the Ribeira Grande, the island of Vila Franca do Campo, the lagoon Sete Cidades, Furnas and Nordeste, as well as in Lisbon.
