Newly-promoted Russian Premier League side FC Baltika Kaliningrad are making ambitious moves in the transfer market as they join the race to sign Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro, currently on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns, Footynaija.com reports.

The 23-year-old forward is attracting widespread attention following a standout loan spell at AmaZulu FC, where his physicality, work rate, and eye for goal made him one of the most consistent performers in the South African top flight.

His exploits have not gone unnoticed, and now FC Baltika are ready to challenge South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu, and Sekhukhune United for his signature.

According to the South African, both Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca and Baltika have made concrete approaches, adding serious international weight to the transfer tug-of-war.

FC Baltika, who secured their return to the Russian Premier League after winning the First League in May 2025, are eager to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2025–26 season. With ambitions of staying in the top flight, the club sees Ighodaro as a key piece of their long-term project.

Ighodaro, who scored six goals across all competitions for Amazulu, is currently valued at €1.40 million as per Transfermarkt.
