Chris Ngige, former Anambra governor, on Thursday stunned attendees at the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting.
The former minister of labour and employment had been held at the Kuje Correctional Centre over corruption allegations filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The court had directed that Ngige must present a surety who is a director employed by the federal government.
The surety must also own a landed property and deposit documents of the property and travel documents with the court until Ngige retrieves his own passport.
The former minister later secured bail earlier on Thursday after meeting all court conditions.
He arrived at the State House Conference Centre just as President Bola Tinubu took his seat for the gathering.
Security operatives briefly blocked his entry before clearing him to join party leaders.
Ngige is facing allegations of abuse of office, including granting undue favours to associates in contract awards during his ministerial tenure between 2015 and 2023.
The former minister is also accused of receiving gifts worth millions of naira through organisations allegedly linked to him while in office.
The trial has been adjourned to a later date for continuation, leaving observers anticipating the next chapter in the case.
