Nigerian Exchange Group and Central Securities Clearing System are in a collaboration to promote women’s empowerment and are set to host an event on March 7 at NGX Group House, Lagos, to mark International Women’s Day 2025.
The event, themed ‘Accelerate Action for All Women: Rights. Equality. Empowerment,’ is part of the global Ring the Bell for Gender Equality campaign in collaboration with the UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, UN Women, UN Global Compact, World Federation of Exchanges, and International Finance Corporation.
The event will bring together policymakers, investors, listed companies, and civil society leaders to discuss strategies for advancing gender equality in Nigeria’s corporate sector.
The Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NGX Group, Temi Popoola, stated, “As Africa’s leading integrated financial market infrastructure group, we are strategically driving gender equality through transformed policies, inclusive financial instruments, and pathways that unlock women’s economic potential.”
The PUNCH reported that the Nigerian Exchange Group and other capital market stakeholders have called for an improvement in the investment in women as well as the deepening of inclusion.
