NGX Suspend Buying, Selling of Aso Savings Shares

The buying and selling of the shares of Aso Savings and Loans Plc on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited have been suspended.

This action was taken on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, by the regulatory arm of the NGX Group Plc, NGX RegCo Limited.

The suspension came a few weeks after trading in the shares of the financial institution was lifted.

However, this time, the suspension was to determine the shareholders who are entitled to receive the reconstructed shares of the organisation.

Aso Savings recently executed a share reconstruction exercise and there is the need for the company’s registrars and the Central Securities and Clearing System Plc (CSCS) to reconcile their books for the listing of the reconstructed shares on stock exchange.

In a circular last week, it was stated that, “Trading license holders and the investing public are hereby notified that trading in the shares of Aso Savings and Loans was suspended on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

“The suspension is necessary to prevent trading in the shares of Aso Savings and Loans so as to enable the company’s registrars and the Central Securities and Clearing System Plc (CSCS) to reconcile their books for the listing of the reconstructed shares on Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

“The suspension is also required for the purpose of determining the shareholders who are entitled to receive the reconstructed shares.”
