Nickelodeon shows such as iCarly, Drake & Josh, and Sam & Cat were a major part of 90s and 2000s kids’ childhoods. And in the early-2010s, one of the most popular series was Victorious. It starred Victoria Justice as Tori Vega, an aspiring singer at an elite performing arts high school in Los Angeles. It was also set during a time when social media was less prevalent, with Tori sharing life updates completely out of context on the fictional “TheSlap.com” using her PearPhone.
Victorious helped skyrocket Ariana Grande to fame, but the other cast members have been much less in the public eye. If you’ve ever wondered what they’ve been up to since leaving the show, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s a look at where the cast of Nickelodeon’s Victorious is today.
After the end of Victorious, Victoria Justice led MTV’s Eye Candy and starred in The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again as Janet Weiss. Justice has not been featured in main roles in television series, but has made appearances in shows such as Queen America, The Real Bros of Simi Valley, and 50 States of Fright. As for the world of film, Justice played the main characters in Trust and the Netflix films, Afterlife of the Party and A Perfect Pairing.
Following a seven-year hiatus from music, Justice began releasing new music starting with “Treat Myself” in December 2020. She has since continued to make music, releasing “Too F*ckin’ Nice” and “Stay” in 2021.
Ariana Grande reprised her role as Cat Valentine in Sam & Cat, which began only a few months after Victorious ended. The iCarly and Victorious spin-off only lasted a single season, but Grande was able to move on to bigger and better things. Her music career rapidly gained momentum with her debut album, Yours Truly, and Grande has now released an impressive six studio albums.
Grande has become a pop icon and is currently the most-followed woman artist on Spotify and the second most-followed artist on Spotify overall (only behind Ed Sheeran). In 2021, Grande served as a judge on Season 21 of the singing reality competition series, The Voice. That same year, Grande appeared as Riley Bina in Netflix’s Don’t Look Up and was cast as Glinda in Jon M. Chu’s Wicked: Part One, which has been scheduled for a late 2024 release.
Beck Oliver was Avan Jogia‘s breakthrough role, but he has gone on to lead Twisted, Tut, Ghost Wars, and Now Apocalypse. Jogia had a supporting role in Zombieland: Double Tap before becoming video game icon Leon S. Kennedy in 2021’s Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. With their brother, Ketan, Jogia formed a band called Saint Ivory and released an album titled Mixed Feelings in 2020. The album tied in with his 2019 book of the same name, which featured poems and stories exploring multiracial identity. While Jogia did not get into much detail about his time with Nickelodeon, he mentioned that he neither thinks about it much nor does he look back on it fondly (via People).
Outside of Victorious, Elizabeth Gillies has been best known for playing Farron Carrington on The CW’s reboot of the early-80s soap opera, Dynasty. Gillies directed two episodes for the show: “A Good Marriage in Every Sense” in Season 4, and “But a Drug Scandal?” in Season 5. Her recent films have included Vacation and Arizona, and she also voiced Selina Kyle in the DC animated movie, Catwoman: Hunted. You can spot Gillies in three of Grande’s music videos: “Right There,” “Thank U, Next,” and “Stuck With U.”
Matt Bennett has left the role of Robbie Shapiro behind him, moving on to projects such as The Stanford Prison Experiment, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, and Manson Family Vacation. Bennet had a recurring role in Netflix’s American Vandal and has made small appearances in Fresh Off the Boat, Grey’s Anatomy, and the Gillies-led Dynasty. He starred in the music video for Grande’s “One Last Time” and has a cameo in the music video for “Thank U, Next.”
Leon Thomas III continued to act after Victorious, appearing in the crime drama film Detroit, the pilot of Fear the Walking Dead, and several episodes of HBO’s hit series Insecure. But Thomas has focused more on his music career, becoming an accomplished singer-songwriter and record producer. Thomas has songwriting credits on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, Grande’s Positions, Jack Harlow’s Come Home the Kids Miss You, SZA’s SOS, and many more. As a solo artist, Thomas has released great songs, such as “Breaking Point” and “Love Jones” (featuring Ty Dolla $ign).
From 2016 to 2018, Daniella Monet was the host of Paradise Run, a popular competition series from Nickelodeon. But her working relationship with Nickelodeon during Victorious was not an entirely positive one. In 2022, Monet recalled an incident where the network ignored her concerns about some questionable scenes. This followed former actress Jennette McCurdy’s comments about Victorious and iCarly creator Dan Schneider. Monet has not had very many major roles recently, but did have a main role as Babymooner in 2020’s Aloha Surf Hotel.
Throughout his acting career, most of Eric Lange‘s television roles have only been for a single episode, in shows such as Once Upon a Time, Grey’s Anatomy, and The Man in the High Castle. The second season of Narcos was an outlier, featuring Lange in an important role as CIA chief Bill Stechner. Another Netflix series, 2021’s Brand New Cherry Flavor, also featured Lange in a key role, with him acting alongside Catherine Keener and Rosa Salazar.
Lane Alexander, played by Lane Napper, was the guidance counselor at Hollywood Arts. Napper appeared in more than 20 episodes of Victorious and was also a choreographer and dialogue coach on the show. He has continued to teach acting workshops and give dance lessons through the Broadway Dance Center.
Michael Eric Reid has added several films to his resume upon leaving Victorious. He appeared in a 2015 slasher film called The Funhouse Massacre, was the best friend of the main character in 2017’s Mamaboy, and played Jesse in The Honor Farm. Reid then explored the horror genre in 2018 with Camp Cold Brook.
Without a doubt, Jim Pirri (who played Tori’s dad on the show) has had the most voice-acting experience out of everyone in the Victorious cast. Pirri has done voices for Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia and Wizards: Tales of Arcadia, DreamWorks Dragons, and Disney’s The Owl House. He has also had major roles in video games, which include Angelo Bronte in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Boozer in Days Gone. Live action seems to have taken a back seat, with one of Pirri’s last TV roles being Bertrand Eldon in an episode of The CW’s Batwoman.
Jennifer Carta portrayed Tori and Trini’s mom, Holly Vega, in Victorious. She has appeared in minor roles on NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles, Teen Wolf, Numb3rs, and Nickelodeon’s Side Hustle.
