Hip-hop heavyweights Cardi B and Nicki Minaj reignited their long-simmering feud this week, stunning fans with a heated exchange on social media that crossed into deeply personal territory.
What began as trading insults quickly escalated when Minaj took aim at Cardi’s 7-year-old daughter, using offensive terms including “ugly monkey and roach.”
Cardi swiftly fired back, alleging that Minaj’s 5-year-old son was “slow” and “nonverbal.”
...s left fans unsettled, as the conflict between the two rap superstars spilled beyond the artists themselves and onto their children.
After nearly a week of back-and-forth comments, Minaj appeared to soften her stance late Thursday night. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, she walked back some of her earlier statements in a message that read like an apology.

“You’re a cute child and lots of kids have cute little funny looking gums before they grow into all their features,” Minaj wrote of Cardi’s daughter. “One day you’ll see this, so I have to say: I apologize…you’re an innocent child and don’t deserve any of this.”
Cardi B did not appreciate the shady apology.
“Don’t give my child no backhanded apology; keep my child name out your mouth because I’mma always take you where you don’t wanna go about mine,” she responded on X.
The Bronx-born rapper also made an apology, of sorts, to Minaj’s son, Papa Bear.
