England-born Nigeria-eligible center-back Tosin Adarabioyo is reportedly set to pledge his international allegiance to one of England or Nigeria in the coming months with the 2026 FIFA World Cup in mind, Footynaija.com understands.
Tosin has established himself as a vital player for Chelsea since arriving at Stamford Bridge following his departure from West London rivals Fulham upon the expiration of his contract last summer.
He made significant contributions last season as the Blues secured a return to the UEFA Champions League and made history as the first club in Europe to win all three major European trophies after their Europa Conference League triumph in May.
Despite his achievements at club level, the 27-year-old remains inexperienced at international level. A dual-national, eligible to represent England and Nigeria, Tosin is yet to make a senior international appearance in his career.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup fast approaching and the player’s desire to take part in the Mundial, BBC Sport’s Nizaar Kinsella reports that the former Manchester City defender is expected to choose between England and Nigeria in the coming months.

While the possibility of Tosin picking Nigeria over England cannot be outrightly ruled out, that eventuality is still a steep one, especially if his aim is to play at the World Cup.
