Nigeria needs right leadership to rescue it from challenges — Army CoS

Nigeria needs the right leadership that would give it a sense of direction and rescue it from its current challenges, says the Chief of Staff, Directorate of Chaplain Services Protestant, Nigerian Army, Rt. Rev. Joseph Njoku.

The Lieutenant Colonel spoke on Sunday at the graduation and maiden convocation of Anchor Leadership Academy.

The programme was held in conjunction with Anchor International Youth and Teen Work Academy at the West Africa Theological Seminary, in Ipaja, Lagos State.

Njoku was quoted according to a statement as having said: “Nigerians cannot pretend to admit that the country is safe with challenges of kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry and terrorism ravaging the country coupled with the unpalatable state of the economy.

“Hence, the country needs the right leadership to give her a sense of direction.”

The President of Anchor International Outreach Ministry, Pastor Bolarinwa Omotosho, said: “The church is the solution to the ills in Nigeria today and if the leaders can release their members that have the pedigree to participate in politics and are supported, the country would experience a positive change in Nigeria politics.”

The Chairman, of Governing Council, WATS, Rev. Emmanuel Oluwayemi, called for a new generation of leaders, adding that current leaders have failed the country.
