Nigerian skit maker Nasboi has called on citizens to look beyond tribal and religious divisions and demand accountability from those in power.
Naijaonpoint reports that the singer expressed frustration over how Nigerians have remained silent despite several cases of corruption.
He recalled past incidents where public funds mysteriously went missing.
Nasboi lamented that politicians continue to loot public resources for personal gain, living without concern for the suffering of ordinary people.
He urged Nigerians to prioritize the nation’s progress by standing together and speaking up against corruption.
He added that unity is the only way to bring real change and stop leaders from taking the masses for granted.
He wrote on his X page: “We’ve really kept quiet in this country. Reminiscing stories like ‘snake swallowing money.’ These politicians really take us for granted. busy stealing money they cannot finish on earth. It’s time to put our tribes and religions aside. Put this Country first.”
His comments comes few months after he slammed the Nigerian police when an unnamed officer asked him to transfer money into a Sporty Bet account.
Naijaonpoint reports that Nasboi had embarked on a 36-day nationwide tour across all the Nigerian states in an effort to capture Davido’s attention and secure a feature on an upcoming track.
In a post via 𝕏, the singer said a police officer stopped him to request money.
Nasboi said the unnamed officer asked him to transfer it to his Sporty Bet account when he told him that he had no cash with him.
