THE Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has linked the current economic difficulties to poor choices made during the 2023 elections.
Suleman reportedly made this statement during the two-day “Recovery Conference 2025” held in Bauchi State on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Before the conference, he visited the Government House to meet with Governor Bala Mohammed accompanied by other senior pastors, including Dr. Kingsley Aigbe.
While commending Mohammed for his leadership and hospitality, Suleman referred to him as “a man of honour” and promised to keep the state in his prayers.
Speaking with journalists at the Government House, Suleman did not hold back in expressing his views on the nation’s situation, placing some blame on Nigerians for their electoral decisions.
“What Nigerians are experiencing is partly what they deserve. Prior to the election, we raised our voices in warning. The individual (President Bola Tinubu) who assumed leadership had no manifesto—only a sense of entitlement with his ‘it’s my turn’ mantra,” Suleman stated.
He criticized Tinubu’s administration for its poor policy choices and the mishandling of the oil sector, stating, “The oil sector has been exploited. In the next 10 to 15 years, I doubt Nigerians will recover from the damage. Now, all we can do is pray.”
Suleman urged Nigerians to reconsider their voting decisions ahead of the 2027 elections, cautioning, “If they’ve suffered enough by then, perhaps they’ll make better choices.”
Echoing Suleman’s sentiments, Governor Mohammed also criticized Tinubu’s policies, warning of their potential long-term harm to the nation.
“Tinubu’s policies lack a clear vision and are leading us toward destruction. My call for tax reforms is not because I oppose reform; rather, I seek reforms that will have a national impact. I harbor no ill will towards the president, only respect,” Mohammed remarked.
The governor pledged to continue voicing his concerns about Federal Government policies as long as they “shortchange Nigerians.”
“Nigerians deserve better, and I will not hesitate to highlight these shortcomings,” he affirmed.
