The Nintendo Store app includes a nostalgic new feature, allowing players to look back fondly on their favorite games and consoles on the past. Now available on iOS and Android devices, the Nintendo Store app does exactly what it says on the tin: it’s a virtual storefront where you can purchase games from the Switch and Switch 2 library, along with consoles, accessories, and official Nintendo merch.
But a less-prominent feature in the Nintendo Store app also allows players to look back on over a decade of Nintendo gaming history, with play and purchase data that extends all the way back to the eShop’s launch on the 3DS. Many players have taken this as an opportunity to get nostalgic about their favorite Nintendo games of years past, gawking at just how much time they sank into them back in the day.
Players Fondly Remember Their Most-Played 3DS & Wii U Games
Nostalgia Abounds
In an X (formerly Twitter) thread by Wario64 discussing the new Nintendo Store app’s feature, hundreds of users sounded off about their play data, expressing nostalgia for their favorite 3DS and Wii U games. One user, Francisco, simply posted a screenshot of their library with the simple caption, “Man…” and a reaction GIF of a person crying.
Other app users took the opportunity to marvel at just how much they played their favorite games at launch, reporting, say, nine hours of playtime in Hollow Knight: Silksong on release day (Intisar Ahmed), or 13 hours of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in one day the weekend it was released (Marcy).
Still others remarked on just how much time they devoted to Wii U/3DS apps. RetroBurger logged over 350 hours in Street Pass, while some reported hours in the thousands for streaming apps like YouTube, Netflix, or Hulu.

If you want to get in on the nostalgia yourself, you can easily do so by downloading the Nintendo Store app from your preferred platform. Once inside, tap on your account’s profile picture on the bottom right of the navigation bar, then scroll to the bottom of the page. Select the “Play Activity” banner to see all your data.
Some players have reported that the feature isn’t available in their region, or that the play data available seems to be inaccurate. It’s unclear whether Nintendo plans to roll this feature out globally at a later date, but for now, it appears to be working just fine in the US.
Regardless of what you used your old Nintendo consoles for the most, though, it’s an incredible nostalgia fest on the Nintendo Store app, and I highly recommend scrolling through the thread to see the range of player reactions.
