NNPC boss, Bayo Ojulari attends official function amid resignation speculations

Bayo Ojulari, the group chief executive officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, participated virtually in an industry event hosted by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigerian Council on Monday.

Ojulari’s appearance was part of an official assignment and comes amid growing speculation that he has resigned from his position at the national oil company.

Public interest in Ojulari’s future at NNPC has intensified following reports that he is being investigated for alleged money laundering.

Ojulari is said to be under investigation in connection with the alleged transfer of millions of dollars to the account of AA&R Investment Group,” a company operating in energy, agribusiness, logistics, and ICT.

Abdullahi Bashir-Haske, the founder and group managing director,  of AA&R Investment, is married to the daughter of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.”

Atiku, who is running for president under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), is expected to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.”

Sources revealed that President Tinubu, who appointed Ojulari just four months ago to replace Mele Kyari is reportedly ‘livid’ over the security findings tied to Ojulari’s activities since taking office.
