“No family deserves this pain” – Davido reacts to the recent happenings in the country, calls for unity among Nigerians

Nigerian music star David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has reacted to the recent happenings in the country.

Social media has been abuzz over the past few days on the killings in Kwara State and the kidnapping of girls in Kebbi State.

Addressing the unfortunate incidents, in a press statement, Davido expressed heartbreak for the young girls who were kidnapped in Kebbi. He noted how no family deserves such pain, as he called for unity among Nigerians.

Davido also expressed sadness over the tragic attack on the church in Kwara State. He prayed for the families who lost loved ones and those attacked by the incident. He stated that these acts of violence must never become their norm.

“My heart goes out to the young girls k!dnapped in Kebbi State and to their families. No family deserves this pain. As Nigerians, we must stand together in unity and continue working towards a country where every child can grow up in safety and hope.

I am also deeply saddened by the tragic att@ck on the church in Kwara State. I pray for the families who lost loved ones and for everyone affected by this heartbreaking incident. These acts of violence must never become our norm.

Everything must be done to bring the Kebbi girls home safely. I urge anyone with credible information to come forward in whatever safe and responsible way they can, so it can support ongoing efforts to rescue them.

May God watch over the girls until they return. May He comfort the grieving families in Kwara, bring peace to our nation, and put every sponsors of violence and disorder to shame”.

Over the years, Davido has become actively involved in the politics of Nigeria, both his home town Osun and that of his mother, Edo State.

A few weeks ago, Davido had called out Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Umar Abba, over the political crisis rocking the state. Davido, who was dissatisfied with the his handling of the crisis, warned him not to try him. He called him a disgrace to his children and vowed to lose his cool over him.

Making a u-turn, he admitted that he allowed his emotions to run high due, but he appreciates his commitment to law and order. Davido urged security agencies to redouble their efforts in ensuring peace.

Last month, the singer, had bagged an appointment as Chairman of Osun State Sports Trust Fund.

During the Governorship campaign in Osun State, Davido actively campaigned for his uncle, and when he won, Davido celebrated openly online.

Last year, Davido revealed why he was interested in the Edo State gubernatorial election, as he questioned the police directive for Edo citizens. He declared INEC the most dangerous institution in Nigeria as he admonished Edo indigenes not to bow to them. He noted how he had to fight and rant for the Osun Election to be a success in 2022 and is waiting for Osun 2026.
