There may not be a more epic space exploration game than the wildly popular No Man’s Sky, a game that has received countless quality updates and improvements over the course of its lifetime. In recent weeks, No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games has even released its massive Voyagers 6.0 update that completely revamped gameplay and added a new ship class.

While the Voyager 6.0 update was more than sufficient for players, a cryptic post of a door emoji by creator Sean Murray (via X) has fans speculating about yet another possible update coming to No Man’s Sky, or even an update concerning Hello Games’ exciting next open-world project, Light No Fire.

While nothing has been confirmed about the meaning behind this emoji by Murray or Hello Games yet, the cryptic post is out of the ordinary for Murray and has fans theorizing over its possible implications.

In fact, Murray rarely posts things outside of images unless they are relatively significant, and often these sorts of posts are related to major updates from Hello Games.

Murray’s post history is a key reason why his cryptic door emoji post is raising eyebrows among the No Man’s Sky community, and players have been quick to start theorizing about what it could possible relate to. The leading theory is that this door emoji is a reference to The Doors’ famous hit song “Light My Fire,” which players such as DjMonkey and others replying to the original post have pointed out.
