The governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the conduct of the ongoing bye-elections for the Anambra South Senatorial District.
Soludo made this assertion at his polling unit – Ofiyi Square, 002, Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area of the state – when he cast his vote.
He commended the commission for its preparedness which led to the success of the poll.
Expressing his satisfaction with the ongoing poll, Soludo said no atom of violence was recorded in the state.
“I have just exercised my franchise. I am quite impressed with the conduct of the election. There is also an impressive turnout. Everybody is going about voting peacefully.
“I want to thank INEC for being on top of their game as usual. Basically, everything is going well. No rancour, no fighting,” Soludo said.
