The Edo State House of Assembly has summoned Natasha Osawaru, the wife of music icon Innocent Idibia, also known as 2baba or 2face, over allegations of misconduct.
Kemi Filani reported days back that videos released online shown the moment, 2baba was arrested on handcuffs after an altercation with Natasha in the UK.
Following this, the e Assembly has given her 7 days to appear before its Ethics Committee for questioning over a viral video of her and her famous husband in the UK.
The Edo lawmaker, who represents Egor Constituency, was accused of dragging the House into disrepute following online reports of her public misconduct between herself and 2baba in London that led to the singer’s arrest.
Speaking during its plenary, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, said 2baba’s wife has been trending negatively in the media.
“Distinguished members, of recent, this Honourable House, with cerebral and highly educated members, have been dragged to the mud for too long by our colleague, Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru. For the past week, she has been, let me use the word, trending negatively on both electronic media and social media platforms. Television stations such as TVC, Silverbird, and others.
We want to let the public know that this House is a decent and reputable House. In Nigeria, as a whole, this House is the best House. That is the truth.
But we have responsible members in this House. Intelligent members in this House. Members who know what they are doing. So the attitude or the misconduct of a member cannot drag the House to disrepute”.
He said Natasha must appear before the House Standing Committee on Ethics and Privileges within a week to defend herself regarding the case of misconduct. The speaker noted that Natasha would also show cause why disciplinary action should not be taken against her.
He asked the Committee to report back to the House on its findings within two weeks.
