Taking to X after the India-Nordic Summit in Oslo, PM Modi said discussions at the summit covered a wide range of areas, including sustainability, innovation, clean energy, emerging technologies and strengthening cooperation for a peaceful and prosperous future.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday said Investment from Nordic countries into India has increased by about 200% over the past decade.
Addressing a joint statement after the 3rd India-Nordic Summit in Oslo, PM Modi said bilateral trade has grown nearly four times over the past 10 years, with Nordic investment funds becoming important partners in India’s growth story.

“In 10 years, our bilateral trade has increased about 4 times. Investment fund of Nordic countries is becoming an important partners in India’s rapid growth. In the last decade, investment from Nordic countries into India has increased by about 200%. Rapidly increasing trade and investment have contributed to India’s growth story. It has also played a very positive role in the economy of Nordic countries, and created thousands of new jobs,” PM Modi said.
He said recent initiatives are aimed at further strengthening economic engagement between India and the Nordic region.
“To take our relations to the next level, we have taken a few important initiatives recently. From October 2025, we have brought Trade and Economic Partnership into effect with Norway, Iceland and other EFTA (European Free Trade Association) nations. Just a few months ago, we signed the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, which also has Denmark, Finland and Sweden as partners. With this ambitious trade agreement, we are going to initiate a new golden age for relations between India and the Nordic countries,” he added.
Taking to X after the joint presser, PM Modi said the summit highlighted the “growing depth and dynamism” of India’s partnership with the Nordic region.

He added that India and Nordic countries are united by shared democratic values, trust and a common commitment towards human-centric development.
