The Northern Youth Association of Nigeria (NYAN) has passed a vote of confidence on the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, praising his infrastructure drive and project execution across the country.
In a statement signed by NYAN National President, Comrade Godiya T. Adams Bogoro, the youth group commended the Minister for accelerating key federal road projects and introducing cost-effective construction technologies.
The association highlighted several major highway projects that have seen rapid progress under Umahi’s tenure, including the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Road, Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, Second Niger Bridge access roads and East–West Road corridors.
NYAN noted that these completions have significantly boosted regional trade, enhanced security, and improved agricultural logistics, particularly across Northern Nigeria.
The statement underscored Umahi’s introduction of reinforced concrete pavement technology, which the group stated ensures long-term durability and better value for public funds.
NYAN also praised the Minister’s strict stance on contractor accountability, strict adherence to project timelines, and zero tolerance for substandard work.
Concluding the statement, Bogoro declared Umahi as a standout performer within President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” administration.
The group urged the Federal Government to sustain funding for the ministry and called on Nigerians to support ongoing infrastructural reforms.
