The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced a 10-day extension of the deadline for the use of old naira notes, after pressure from Nigerians and scarcity of the new naira notes.
The CBN governor, revealed this when he spoke on Sunday morning in Daura, Katsina State, after a meeting with the President Muhammadu Buhari, who is in his home state for official duties.
He said the approval for the extension was given by President Buhari.
According to the CBN supremo, the new deadline is now 10 February instead of January 31, 2023 announced earlier.
