The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced a rescheduling of the matchday 16 fixture between Kwara United and Enyimba.

The NPFL match, originally set for Wednesday, February 5, will now take place on Monday, January 25, 2025, at the Kwara State Sports Complex in Ilorin.

Additionally, Kwara United’s upcoming match against Shooting Stars has been postponed indefinitely. NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi communicated this in a statement released on Monday, encouraging the club’s supporters to remain patient as they await further updates.

The second stanza of the league is set to commence on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

In player news, Katsina United forward Sadiq Abubakar Usman is on the verge of trial with the renowned Egyptian club, Zamalek.

The announcement came from the Chanji Boys through their media officer, Nasir Gide, who highlighted that the trial is being sponsored by the club’s chairman, Dan’lami Rimi.

The statement noted: “Sadiq Abubakar Usman, also known as Daddy Matic, of Katsina United Football Club, has departed for a trial at Zamalek FC in Egypt. The club is committed to supporting this opportunity for the talented player, who represents one of the state’s grassroots recruits.”

If Usman does not secure a position at Zamalek; he will have opportunities to trial with two additional Egyptian clubs.

In transfer news, Joel Okoro has completed a move to NPFL side Heartland for the upcoming second stanza of the league.

Okoro joins the Naze Millionaires from Nasarawa United and brings experience from previous stints with Rangers and Doma United.

His addition is expected to significantly contribute to Emmanuel Amuneke’s youthful squad.

Okoro becomes the fifth player to join the Owerri club during the mid-season transfer window, as Heartland aims to improve their current standing in the league, where they presently hold the 14th position with 22 points from 19 matches.
