The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating after a jetliner encounters severe turbulence and is forced to divert to the ground.
Five people were on board the Bombardier CL30, which was en route from Delantine Hopkins Airport in New Hampshire to Leesburg Executive Airport in Virginia on Friday, March 3.
According to the NTSB’s Twitter accountThe turbulence resulted in “fatal injuries to one passenger”. The plane was diverted to Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, and landed at about 4 p.m. local time.
It is not clear what injuries occurred. No information was provided on the condition of the other passengers. No passenger information was provided.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will also investigate the accident.
Conexon, the company registered with the aircraft, declined to comment.
