National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, has described former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as a genuine servant leader whose humility and compassion are “naturally inbuilt.”

Naijaonpoint reports that Tanko made the remark on Tuesday while sharing videos via his 𝕏 handle showing Obi personally serving food to some of his close allies, including himself and activist Aisha Yesufu, in a private gathering.

Tanko wrote, “This is the hallmark of a good and servant leadership, one who serves the people, even his staff. It is not for the show, it’s naturally inbuilt.

“Obidients, let’s stay focused. PO is coming. A New Nigeria is Possible.”

Naijaonpoint reports that the gesture comes days after another video of Obi distributing food at a charitable event in Imo State went viral, triggering mixed reactions from Nigerians.

Some critics claimed the act was a disguised political campaign, while others defended it as an expression of empathy.

Responding to the controversy, Obi clarified that his actions were not politically motivated but purely humanitarian.

The former Anambra State governor emphasised that true leadership must be rooted in humility and service, urging Nigerians to embrace a culture of consistent compassion rather than viewing charitable acts as performative.

Obi, who has continued to draw support from his grassroots movement since the 2023 elections, reiterated his commitment to a more inclusive and service-driven leadership model.
