OGUN: Police intercept motorcycle rider in possession of three skulls

THE Ogun state police command have arrested two men over the alleged possession of three human skulls in the Ijebu area.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said in a statement from Abeokuta that the arrests followed a routine stop-and-search operation by Mobile Police officers from 71 PMF Awa Ijebu yesterday, August 11, 2025.

Officers intercepted Kadir Owolabi, who was riding a motorcycle along the Ijebu Ode–Ibadan Expressway at Refugees Camp Junction, Oru Ijebu.

A search of his luggage revealed three human skulls.

Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of a second suspect, 53-year-old Jamiu Yisa, near the Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat.

The State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has given directives to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over the case for discreet investigation.

The Ogun Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to tackling crime and urged residents to cooperate with law enforcement, assuring them of confidentiality and protection of their identities.
