Olakunle Churchill clears the air on his relationship with Olusegun Obasanjo after attending his 89th birthday

Nigerian businessman and ex-husband of actress Tonto Dikeh, Olakunle Churchill, has cleared the air on his relationship with former president, Olusegun Obasanjo.

While sharing clips of him attending the former president’s 89th birthday, a fan had stated that he thought Obasanjo had given birth to him.

Responding to the comment, he explained that a father figure is not necessarily the person who gave birth to you, but one who plays a significant role in raising, guiding, and mentoring someone while growing up.

Churchill revealed that through the former president’s help, he attended a military school in Abeokuta, where he spent much of his childhood.

“A father figure is not only the one who birthed you.
It can be an uncle, relative, or family friend who adopted and raised you, who was there for you from childhood – guiding, mentoring, and raising you into the person you are today.
What matters is the role he played in shaping your life and the respect you have for him.

Through his influence. I attended a military school in Abeokuta and spent my childhood there.
Today, I am strong”.

Late last year, Olori Dr Olayinka Kiladejo, the Queen of Ondo Town, had confirmed that actress Olakunle wasn’t a gardener but a respectable religious leader. The Queen confirmed this while presenting a speech, after he donated a missionary bus to the St. Stephen Anglican Church Cathedral in honour of his late father.

It was alleged that the philanthropist’s late father, Primate Gabriel Oladunni, was merely a gardener, whereas in fact he was known to royal dignitaries and truly respected.

Recall that during her messy split from Churchill, Tonto had claimed Churchill’s father was former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s gardener.

Debunking her claims, Churchill stated that his father wasn’t a gardener, and even if he was, Jesus Christ was the son of a Carpenter, and one’s background shouldn’t determine one’s limits to greatness. The businessman noted how his mother’s pictures are on the internet and questioned whether she looks like the wife of a gardener.
