Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli has responded to a user who claimed he could make better movies than her.
The X user, identified as Ivankov Baboshkin, said he is convinced and 100 per cent sure he can do a better job and create a more compelling Hollywood movie than Omoni Oboli, Funke Akindele, and Kunle Afolayan combined.
“I’m convinced and 100% sure I can do a better job and create a more compelling Hollywood standard movie than @omonioboli, @funkeakindele, and @kunleafolayan combined”.
Responding to him, Omoni said she believes him and made him know that she is rooting for him.
“I believe you! Go do it! Rooting for you”.
A few days ago, Omoni was ranked as the top content creator on Yoruba. She beat the likes of Itele, Uchenna Mbunabo, Saira Movies, Ruth Kadiri, Apata TV, Uche Montana TV and more to clinch the title.
Expressing excitement, Omoni said God had done a big one with it, as she noted how she had been travelling and was so exhausted, yet she was floating on this joy. Omoni appreciated everyone who poured their heart into the journey, noting how they carried Omoni Oboli TV.
Omoni has undoubtedly come a long way in the industry and has made her mark as one of the filmmakers in Nollywood.
Last year, after 5 years of being away from the Cinema, Omoni made a return with The Uprising which grossed over N93 million within a week and became the number-one Nollywood film of the weekend.
Also, last year, Omoni had tooted her horns, after her 2019 movie, Last Year Single, made waves on Netflix despite it being years since it was released. She noted how her movie was still the number-one show on Netflix in Nigeria.
In early 2024, drama brewed, between Ruth Kadiri and Omoni, as they heavy shades on their respective Instagram stories. Ruth warned a certain colleague against hijacking her artists and messing them up. She accused the said person of purchasing views on the YouTube streaming platform which lowered the ratings of her proteges. In like manner, Omoni shared a prayer caption for her enemies.
