On Wednesday, the Netflix series finally jumped off the top of the streaming charts with the debut of season two

These numbers are especially impressive when you consider that the new batch of episodes only came out on January 5th. Push this to Netflix’s recent strength Wednesday to third place in the ranking, with 1.03 billion minutes watched that week.

Fellow Netflix series kaleidoscopeThe heist thriller, designed to be shown in any order in the lead-up to its final release, came in second with 1.64 billion minutes streamed since its December 31 debut.

Jenny and Georgia It follows fifteen-year-old Jenny Miller, who is more mature than her thirty-year-old mother, Georgia, in the fictional New England town of Wellsbury where Georgia decides to settle down with her daughter Jenny and son Austin to give them a better life than they had. The series stars Brian Howe, Antonio Gentry, Diesel La Turraca, Jennifer Robertson, Felix Mallard, Sarah Weisglass, Scott Porter, Raymond Black, Katie Douglas, and Chelsea Clark.

“You know what’s cool? It was really Netflix — I don’t want to raise your hand — they’ve been really trusting us with the story this season,” creator Sarah Lambert explained in a recent interview with Deadline. “That was cool because we could explore different modes, like episode eight and nine and the Tarantino-esque format of that, do weird things, the whole plot of season two. My favorite thing about the show is that it’s always evolving and changing, and because we get to touch so many different tones on the show.” We really sink into whatever tone we want at the moment. So there’s a lot of freedom there. I love surprising people, so I’m hoping that at the end of Episode 10, Season 2 is a big surprise, and that’s what we were going for. However, there wasn’t Talks with Netflix about Season 3. A lot of strategy in place where I think we’re going to drop it, and then we’ll have to wait and see how that goes and if we get to see Season 3 but I certainly hope we do because it’s going to be a wild ride.”
