OnePlus 9RT

OnePlus just launched the OnePlus 9RT handset in the Indian market. The smartphone was launched back in October in China. The Chinese variant of the handset boots Android 12 based ColorOS 12. However, OnePlus decided to ship OnePlus 9RT global units with OxygenOS 11, which is based on Android 11. It looks like OnePlus 9RT buyers in the country will have to wait for some time until they will be able to use the stable version of Android 12 on their OnePlus 9RT.

OnePlus 9RT

Amazon listing for the OnePlus 9RT reveals that the handset will receive OxygenOS 12 update sometime in March/April 2022. This is rather disappointing considering the fact that Android 12 has been around for almost 5 months, and the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro are already running OxygenOS 12 stable builds. There are good chances that the OnePlus 9R might also get the Android 12 stable update before the newly launched OnePlus 9RT gets it.

Also, OnePlus follows 3 years of Android version upgrade policy, which means if you’re buying a OnePlus 9RT in 2022, you will just be eligible to get 2023 and 2024 versions of Android upgrades.
