Hon. Ononiwu Moses has highlighted the role of Senator Ezenwa Onyiwuchi in promoting empowerment and livelihood support in Imo East, citing a series of initiatives carried out during the 2024 Christmas season.
According to Ononiwu, Senator Onyiwuchi has consistently focused on practical interventions aimed at improving the living conditions of his constituents through actions that address economic and social challenges in the area.
He disclosed that on December 23, Senator Onyiwuchi launched a job creation initiative targeted at reducing unemployment, particularly among youths, during the festive period when many families face financial pressure.
As part of the initiative, buses were provided to support local transportation businesses, creating employment opportunities for drivers and conductors while improving mobility within the constituency.
Ononiwu further stated that the senator distributed grinding machines and sewing machines to small business owners, women, and youths to support entrepreneurship and skill development.
The equipment was aimed at helping beneficiaries start or expand their businesses and generate sustainable income.
He added that Senator Onyiwuchi also distributed bags of rice and provided financial assistance to families to support their Christmas celebrations, with widows, youths, and other vulnerable groups included among the beneficiaries.
The initiatives, according to Ononiwu, were implemented to address unemployment, promote self-reliance, and provide social support within communities across Imo East.
