Houston, Texas (KTRK) – Officials announced this week that a man will spend more than two decades in prison for a fatal stabbing that followed a bout of shoplifting more than two years ago.

On October 8, 2020, Garcia, Ben, and a third man were allegedly on a robbery spree in the Galleria area before an argument broke out between them.
The Pentagon said Garcia, who claimed he was high on the drug, stabbed Penn about 85 times, including around his neck.
The sedan they used was reportedly taken to Denver Harbor and parked with Ben’s body in the back seat.
Authorities said police found the car and arrested Garcia for murder about two weeks later.
Assistant District Attorney Lara Hough said that voluntary intoxication is not a valid legal defense and it will not be a defense at trial.
The plea agreement with Garcia means he cannot appeal the conviction or sentence.
The third suspect in the case has also pleaded guilty, and the verdict in his case is now scheduled.
