VICTOR Osimhen was once again the hero for Galatasaray as they avoided dropping points in the Turkish Super Lig tonight with a 3-2 victory over Samsunspor.

The Super Eagles striker scored twice in the hard-fought win, including an overhead kick winner in stoppage time.

Galatasaray had taken a comfortable looking 2-0 lead with Germany forward Leroy Sane netting in the eighth minute and setting up the second for Osimhen to chip over the Samsunspor goalkeeper in the 29th minute.

The second half was anything but comfortable for the champions though, as the visiting Samsunspor struck twice to level up.

Anthony Musaba pulled one back for Samsunspor 11 minutes into the second period, and Emre Kilinc stunned the home crowd with the equaliser two minutes from regulation time.

Galatasaray needed the three points to stay ahead of Fenerbahçe in the title race and up stepped Osimhen.

The Nigeria international executed the perfect bicycle kick three minutes into stoppage time to seal the big win for Galatasaray as they stretched their lead to four points over Fenerbahçe, who have a game in hand.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray in a €75 million deal in the summer after an impressive season on loan, has now scored 11 goals in 14 matches in all competitions for the Turkish champions this season.

He has five goals in 11 Turkish Super Lig appearances.
