Former Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, has accused billionaire businessman Deji Adeleke, father of music star Davido, of being the real power behind the Osun State government, not Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Adesiyan made the claim during an interview on state affairs with Edmund Obilo, where he alleged that Deji Adeleke exerts decisive influence over the state’s political leadership.

Naijaonpoint reports that Adesiyan did not mince words in asserting who he believes truly calls the shots in Osun.

“Deji Adeleke is the governor. Who is Ademola Adeleke? Can that one become governor? Deji is the one in charge,” he said.

Adesiyan further claimed that Deji Adeleke’s influence in Osun politics is nothing new, tracing it back to the tenure of his late brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke.

“I served under his brother when he was in government. I knew the influence Deji wielded over his senior brother,” the former minister added.

According to Adesiyan, Deji Adeleke is a powerful businessman and a capitalist to the core, and this economic strength, he asserted, translates into deep influence within the political structure of Osun State.

Naijaonpoint understands that Adeleke will contest for a second term in office under the Accord Party in 2026.
