The Independent National Electoral Commission has uploaded 402 polling unit results from the Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal, IReV, as the collation of results continues across the state.
The figure, recorded as of 4:03pm on Saturday, represents 10.68 per cent of the 3,763 polling units where results are expected to be uploaded.
The latest data on the IReV portal showed that the most recent result was uploaded at 4:03:10pm from polling unit 29/02/04/006, while the collation process continued in the state’s 30 local government areas.
The election has attracted close attention from voters, political parties and observers, particularly on the pace of result uploads and the transparency of the collation process.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is seeking another term in office against the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam, and other contenders.
The IReV platform, introduced by INEC to improve transparency, enables members of the public to monitor polling unit results uploaded electronically by election officials.
The commission’s Result Stats section was also updating as fresh results were uploaded, allowing users to refresh the portal to monitor the figures.
However, only a fraction of the expected results had been uploaded as of press time, with more results expected to appear as collation progresses from the polling units to the ward and local government levels.
